Bengisu Birer

Hi I’m Bengisu Birer and I am an 11th grade student at METU High School. I was a member of last year’s iGEM team of METU High School. I noticed my interest in molecular biology two years ago and improved this interest last year by the help of iGEM. That’s why I decided to be a part of this year’s iGEM team.  With the help of iGEM I learnt lots of thing about bacteria which I can’t learn at school. iGEM has many benefits like helping us to think more deeply and faster. Thanks to iGEM, I have improved myself in synthetic biology. Also, it helps evolve your creativity and this affects other classes, too.

Ece Özmen

Hey iGEMmers! I’m Ece, an eleventh grade student in METU High School. My team mates call me E.coli since my name sounds very familiar and I love the wetlab. This is my second year at iGEM and so far I am really enjoying it. I love to spend a whole day or night at the lab for the project. Besides discovering the synthetic biology world we learn how to work in a team, having responsibilities and much more. I believe iGEM is a great opportunity for me since I want to study Molecular Biology at university.

Ezel Erkan

Hi everyone!  I’m Ezel Erkan and it’s my first year in METU High School Ankara iGEM Team. I love genetics very much. So I thought that iGEM will be my favourite club. Making experiments and searchs about our topics are really enjoyable for me. Now, I want iGEM to be with me forever. iGEM makes me to think about little things and discover them from researches.I learnt how to do reasearch. I want to be a member of iGEM team of our high school next year, too. And finally;  thanks to my awesome team; to work and to have fun with me.
